Untitled #21
By: Florence Mwanza
As blank as a page
As clear as a dream
A city of darkness
Hidden in screams
No sun, no moon
No space, no room
Starless shallow nights
With a girl hidden from the light
I can’t hear
I can’t see
Just find me under an evertree
A city of rumors and darkness and theft
A girl unlike the city, unlike all the rest
Can I go away?
Home to another place?
Unlike this city of darkness and screams
And if you look closely-
Maybe you’ll find me
love,
flora

This feels like a whisper from the shadows—beautifully written, aching with quiet hope. I see Flora, even in the dark.
